that's exactly correct.
any time it was in my hand I dumped moxen and cast it for 0. it made all the bounce spells from the board better too because it effectively just killed whatever I bounced.
makes me wonder if engineered explosives would be better....hitting tokens, moxen, flipped delvers.
Reminder, flipped cards now count as the CMC of their other side (so Delver would be a 1-drop and JVP a 2 drop). I favor EE due to it's ability to clear out multiple spheres.

Mother of runes just doesn't fit this deck's game plan. Its filled with creatures that simultaneously fill the role of agro-stick and light lock piece. Mom can either attack or protect but not both. If you are bringing her in for protection she's not doing damage. As storm said, you want to do roughly 15 points of damage in the first 5 turns. She doesn't contribute to this game plan.
as Andy said I don't run Dismember because it simply costs too much, it costs both life and mana. The difference of 1 mana is huge and 'flashblacking' it is a pain and I don't care about the CMC unless it costs 1. Sometimes being able to Dismember for 3 mana instead of 4 would be nice but I don't get often in that situation (even I do). Even though I fetch for Underground Sea more often I don't often have double black either.
So I did not even consider running it. Playing Young Pyromancer/JVP and then playing Snuff Out while tapped out is important.
@yugular Unfortunately, I barely take notes of my matches beyond life count, and after 8 rounds I mix gameplays :( So going into further detail would involve some fantasy from me.
Yeah and it can be disturbing to try to record whats happening. Its better to just concentrate to the game itself :)
I complain about them in every Gen Con survey to try to get anew TO. Magic is the biggest game in the industry but with the poor experience that Pastimes offers, I've seen the magic area shrink year after year. It was shamefully small this year. I was happy that they did not run the vintage events at the same time as the legacy events like they did last year. That's about the only good thing I have to say. in addition to the issues that impact vintage players, they fails on some pretty common items. I had planned in playing in a few Eternal Masters drafts as well if I had down time. They were only offering the standard sets at $18 per draft. They only offered Standard and Modern for win-a-box. Anymore, I only get to play paper magic at Gen Con and E.W. so their events make up half of all the Magic I get to play in a year. I hope we get a new T.O. soon.
It does seem neat, but with the prevalence of Reality Smasher and TKS, not to mention pyroblasts, I really dont want to be playing a card that can't survive combat with them initially, and gets blasted. That said, I do think that card would be sweet, but its probably better in a shell with more proactive instants and sorceries.
This deck is very reactive, making it kinda hard to trigger the flip when you want it. I think there's a maximum of 6 non-reactive spells that would trigger it? That seems a bit low for something that will come down in the mid-late game after players have traded resources a lot already.
If I were going to play it, I would probably start with a similar shell to the Thing in the Ice decks that were all the rage a few weeks ago. Just having the extra 8-10 cantrips to help flip this on demand would make it much more powerful than here.
@Soly The quick answer is that I'm a bad player and don't make proper scouting. The long answer is that Miquel is often on heavy control builds (no landstill though), and I understood that two people were talking about him playing Landstill (it turned that it was his opponent that round). besides, I was pretty sure I could draw intentionally if I was 3-1, but had 0 chances if I was 2-2, so I wasn't expecting to play last round. In fact it turned that even losing, he entered top 8.
Thanks man. I enjoyed playing it, and I think if one were to play it at larger tournament the deck needs some tuning. Some cool tech I stumbled upon after the tournament was big game hunter since you already play jace, bazaar and 3 mana under a thorn isn't all that hard.

The kind of oversideboarding @diophan is talking about is really common in vintage (probably in magic). If you can get a handle on that you'll be ahead of the curve. Just make sure you follow it to it's natural conclusion. If you don't have enough cards in your deck to take out in order to fit, say, the Echoing Truth ... then that Echoing Truth could have been something more useful in another matchup. Adding cards to a sideboard without considering what you need to cut for them is a critical error I see people make all the time.
