I've played against Day's Undoing Belcher a few times with Dredge and that is not a good matchup for Dredge. People tend to say combo beats Dredge, but I find that Storm is worse against Dredge than you might think. Day's Undoing Belcher is something entirely different though.
@Brass-Man I beat two workshops decks last time I played a daily with oath. The deck is fantastic! Except my best matchup had its best card restricted...
I'll be Oathing up something deadly soon, not sure what or how, but of this I am certain.
@themonadnomad I love your phrase... in the WILD. It is a feral format! I guess I'm just thinking that if they are going to be interfering (restricting things) anyway... it would be nice for them to at least send some scouts into our ecosystem once in awhile. Otherwise I don't see how any of their wildlife management choices can be justified. But yea, I'm all for letting the predators roam free as much as possible.

I also wouldn't call their dismissal foolish, there's just far superior options regardless of meta (opinion, but their lack of wide spread adoption speaks volumes).
In 2016 though, there are at least 6 hits for Salvagers on TCDecks. That's not including the Asian Championships or a 32-person event in PA in which I came in second with Kelly Oath. The lack of widespread play has much more to do IMO with other factors (difficulty of play, inability to play on MTGO, player preference, metagame considerations) than 'far superior options regardless of meta'. Obviously Nakamura and Brian Kelly, felt so...

I wrote a similar comment in the restriction thread and I agree with you 100%. This restriction had more to do with the type of deck they want to be powerful rather than actual % of the field. Similarly, I think they were actually being honest when they wanted Chalice restricted because "we want people to be able to play their moxen" - just like LSG is now on the restricted list for creating too many non-interactive games.
Where this leaves the metagame post-LSG restriction remains to be seen. I suspect that, without a fair number of shops decks to keep explosive combo decks and gush decks in check, we are likely to see another restriction necessary from the emerging decks...
I initially thought your "Shadows Over Vintage" was speaking to the dark conspiracy whereby certain, shadowy individuals are manipulating the Vintage format via VSL bitching and shops-oppressive restrictions ...

@Islandswamp Thanks for the input. Looking forward i think adding 1-2 Mentors is the way to go. Not only diversifying threats but also just adding them is important. As i'm often controlling the opponent but have no threats to end the game.
I would enjoy a season of VSL where the participants can play any day for any of their matches. Locking people in to a deck for a portion of the season leads to weird inbred metagaming which doesn't necessarily represent real Vintage.
