The 2016 events were all a blast. But we're looking for more in 2017. That's why 2017 will see a few major changes to the Deal Me In Games schedule. First instead of hosting tournaments ever 3-4 months we are moving to 1 tournament every other month. Most tournaments will be the 2nd weekend of the month. This will typically only vary depending on pre-releases and major tournaments.

***Next, the big announcement - we will track standings and participation for ALL PLAYERS thru the course of the year. At the end of the year we will be able to crown the Champion of DMiG!!! Points will be awarded each round you play - Win=3, tie=2 Loss=1. Points will accumulate throughout the the year so the more events your participate in, the more points you can accumulate. Prizes will be given at the end of the year to the top player.
These points will not have any affect on individual tournaments or prizes for each tournament. The point system and any prizes associated with it are purely a bonus to our normal structure.

The top 8 point earners will be invited to a special invitational only event at the end of the year/beginning of 2018.

After 3 events here is the point totals for the Deal Me In Games top 8 champs:

LOL this is so amazing, i'm literally laughing out loud at work right now....

  • I'll have full report and meta breakdown in a few days. But we had a full split of top 8 and a VERY diverse meta. Shops and mentor of course, but we also had white eldrazi, dredge, oath (salvagers and saheeli variants). The 3 dredge decks represented 3 more dredge decks than we've had in the past 4 events combined!

Only 19 showed as once again another shop in the region announced an event on the same day.

I understand each shop has its own interests at heart but I have always gone out of my way to schedule our events around what other shops have planned. Notice of our events is out there 1 1/2 months early. We've now not only had other people using my announcement thread to cross promote their event once but have now had 2 events double scheduled.

We will continue to conduct ourselves in the same manner - schedule events a good time out, stick to a pretty regular and well known schedule, try not to step on other stores toes. But if some of these other stores want to keep double dipping they have to realize they are hurting themselves by doing so.

  • I have pictures from the event but need to figure out how to make them smaller files to site allowances before I can upload them.
