Matt buck saheeli oath top 8

I'll have updated point totals probably tomorrow when Nyquil is done kicking my ass and making me feel loopy.

Doomsday 1 (0 made top 😎
Standard build

The last standard build I recall ran 4 Gush and 3 Gitaxian Probe. Any lead as to who piloted it and/or the list?

It was me, Josh B. The list is basically Dark Petition Doomsday, but mostly black with thoughtseizes and defense grids. Unfortunately, I was so out of practice and have never actually played with Dark Petition (I messed up spell master once and the math another time) that I didn't do the list justice. I made two major mistakes that cost me a game both times, and I'm sure I made a bunch of other errors, too.

Overall, I like the list, but it's nothing compared to what it once was. I think it's definitely got potential if piloted well, but it's also definitely clunkier.

In any case, the tournament was fun, it was great to see some of the guys again, and really well run. So, thanks go out to Jay and the shop.

Derp, my bad, I never followed up on the text message you sent me. I should have assumed it was you.

Max Clark 9

Joe Pace 11
Josh Potucek 26
Josh Richards 27
Keith Seals 53
William Sees 23
Carson Shup 5
Dan Sollazzo 7
Chris Varosky 32

This gives us a new top 8 of:

  1. Josh Barkon/Keith Grim 53
  2. Keith Grim/Josh Barkon 53
  3. Jeremy Beaver 44
  4. Dan Barkon 43
  5. Greg Hoover 42
  6. William Dayton 40
  7. Joe Brennan 38
  8. Matt Buck 33

On the outside looking in for the last 2 tournaments we have:
Jason Beaupre (30), Zach Dobbin (31), Evan Hundertmark (27), Dan Miller (30), Josh Potucek (26), Josh Richards (27), Chris Varosky (32), William Sees (23)

Those are all the players within 10 points of making top 8. Having a top 8 player simply miss a tournament can easily make up those points. Some are close enough that a 3-2 vs a 2-3 or even 2-2-1 record could be the difference. Nothing is set in stone yet except maybe Josh B and Keith being in assuming they dont miss a tournament. Things are heating up. Decklists coming soon for top 8.

Also the top 8 all chose to split and were each awarded 4 points for the top 8 matches they potentially could have played.

I also want to add a personal plug for Jason at Deal Me In Games here. The prize support we post is based on attendance of 30 people. I just want to note that Jason has NEVER once scaled prize support down. Even when we had 12, he offered full prize support (the top 8 basically begged and insisted on lesser support).

When he offered the Bazaar of Baghdad at 30 and we hit 24 - he still gave out the bazaar. I suggested he up the entry fee to $35 to use the extra $5 to offset the prize for the top 8 at the end of the year and he refused. So while I'm the visible face who does all the advertising, Jason is the one who takes all the financial risk and puts himself on the line. He never fails to be a stand-up TO and shopkeeper when it comes to prizes. So a big thanks to Jason for all his support for the T1 community this year!!

This in itself makes me want to drive the extra 1.5 hours for the next tournament to show this shop some love and support. I'm quite a distance away, but I'll make sure I can schedule to make one of these tournaments. People say they love Vintage, but the way to do it is to put your money where your mouth is.

As soon as I can get another manager for my facility, I will be scheduling time to come down.
