    how are these better than ceremonious rejection or Abrade/by force? Except for the fact your cards would be good in Shop decks.
    Edit: Granted, you didn't say they would be better, my mind immediately just compared cards for the shop match-up.

    Oh I don't know if they would be better, but I think the design is interesting. Being able to counter for free on the draw against Shops if they cast more than one spell is great.

    Would be great to be able to beat Dredge with Burning Wish; at least slow them down a turn or two so you can beat them with something else. I don't think Morningtide is very strong, but I wouldn't complain if it were an option in a better color.

  • @desolutionist beating dredge with burning wish typically involves wish targets like yawgmoth's will or tendrils of agony, both of which are quite adequate to the task.

    anyway, dug up this thread to post something complicated that would never be printed but i felt was clever:
    LEGENDNAME, boneyard Humus 3GBB
    legendary creature-elemental(spirit?)
    exile a creature card from your graveyard:you gain 1 life and each opponent loses 1 life
    if LEGENDNAME would die exile it instead
    shuffle LEGENDNAME into your library from exile: put any number of cards you own from exile into your graveyard
    the dead make fertile soil for further poisons

  • What would Vintage do with this:

    WBRG - Enchantment
    At the beginning of your upkeep, you win the game.

    How playable is that? If playable, how warping would it be? If too warping, would it be playable as a restricted card? It might get blue decks off Misstep, Blast, and Flusterstorm anyway.



  • @bazaarofbaghdad If it's not playable, then it's irrelevant. If it is playable, then doesn't it just make Misstep more important because it stops the T1 mana dork you're using to accelerate this out t2?



  • @bazaarofbaghdad I'm not convinced it's playable. 4 mana of that many different colors is going to be absurdly hard to cast, and anything that can cheat it in can cheat something better in(something with immediate effect, like griselbrand/bargain/omni). if you want a 4 mana nonblue spell that wins you the game if you untap with it, there's already things that come pretty close in the form of planeswalkers like chandra, torch of defiance that also do something the turn you play them and are easier to cast. for things without immediate effect, oath of druids seems to be better than this.
