      Hey everyone!
I used to be a moderator around here back when the site first came up in the early 00's (same username) and actively working on my T1 ranking over here in NC.
I, unfortunately, sold my collection when my local store stopped having T1 events, which left me stranded at 1 point away from the top spot in my state!
Realizing what a mistake that was... I sold my minty fresh Beta Lotus for $500 😞 😞 😞
Trying to get back into the game now though and hoping to find an approximation of my old deck list. Anyone have any old lists from that time period saved or can point me in the right direction?
I know I had all the jewelry, AR, TW... I don't think I played Timetwister though... 4x Mana Drain, 4 FoW, a stack of duals, REB in the sideboard... maybe a Braingeyser? I cannot, for the life of me, recall what my win condition was though...
Doesn't look like I can afford to rebuild this with all BB again, but I think I'd like to try even if I have to go white...

Great to see this site is still around! Any help would be greatly appreciated πŸ™‚

Oh. Also, there was a program we used to use to play online before MTGO was a thing. Pseudo-graphical... no card art... everything just represented by little colored squares with hover text... any memory of that?

You have to use the way back machine and go back like 5-6 years and then look at morphling.de

It will have every decklist you can imagine from that era

Edit- @Brass-Man i wonder if it would actually be useful to make a section on this website for historic decklists. I think they’re fascinating to look at, but not really easily found online anymore

@schmakt I think the program you're talking about is Apprentice, though Magic Workstation may have been up and running around that point too. Also, you can still go to archive.themanadrain.com to look up forum posts from the older version of this site. Hopefully you can find your deck or something similar!

Welcome back! I'm not sure I can help find you your specific list - there were a LOT of decks back then that fit those criteria. However you might have luck searching the old-old site! I've kept it up at www.archive.themanadrain.com . The search feature still works, if you ever posted it to the site, you may be able to find it. I couldn't find your list, but here's a post where you talked about cutting Timetwister from your Keeper deck, if that helps jog your memory πŸ˜„ http://www.archive.themanadrain.com/index.php?PHPSESSID=9o7rqav6ml33iqhj5847a2lfa4&topic=11832.msg224306#msg224306

Ah, I remember it well πŸ˜„ There were a few programs people used. The two most popular were Apprentice and Magic Workstation. I'd bet you're thinking of one of those two. The modern free equivalent to those old programs is Cockatrice https://cockatrice.github.io/ . There are a few online communities that still regularly play with that. During the Covid pandemic we saw a rise in people playing online games of Vintage with webcams over video chat software. There are a few Discord communities dedicated to that sort of thing, but I can't recall the links offhand, maybe someone else can chime in and mention them in the thread!

Here is the link to the MTG Paper Vintage Discord, which actually has a webcam event on Sunday at 1PM Eastern!

                Thank you guys!!
See? I knew I had dropped Timetwister!

Apprentice is absolutely what I was thinking of too...
And "Keeper..." ugh. How did I forget that! All of this is super helpful...
I'll dig through and find it or at least a close approximation.
Y'all are on top of it... thank you again! πŸ™‚

Wow. It's crazy reading this old stuff.
Can't find my specific list yet, but obviously it changed a lot... being in the ballpark is fun πŸ™‚
It's insane how little I can recall... I lived and breathed Type 1! I always had a tab open to this site at work... or was on Apprentice...
Wild we were talking about cost of entry so much back then...
Reassembling my all-BB deck right now would cost as much as my freaking house did when I bought in '09.
Reminded me I had several articles posted on StarCity too though! Was only able to find one of them, but still pretty neat.

Anyway, thanks again for all the info. I'm quite enjoying T2 right now (either on Arena or at the bar). I have a lot of reading and re-reading in front of me, but let's see what I can see!
Trying to find my old DCI# and MTGO login is the first priority...

@schmakt Luckily you won't need to find your DCI #, they got rid of those...last year I think. Whatever email address you're using for your Arena log-in is basically your new "DCI #".
