StoneBlade

Yeah anecdotal evidence.
A 5/5 is just a low aspiration in Vintage imo. Of course it’s hard to remove, but there isn’t a reason to try and remove it.
-
@lienielsen Not sure I understand your point here. BUG and other creature control decks like the Archon decks work in a similar fashion and these are good solid decks.
It makes me shake my head when people say it is not Vintage to cast a Noble Heirarch or a Stone Forge Mystic. Why do you get to decide what Vintage is?
I play all of the decks, and I think Doomsday and StoneBlade and PO and 8-Cast and BUG and Oath and Tinker and Archon and whatever Bazaar or Shops deck you want to play are all Vintage
-
I agree with Marland here. Is Stoneforge --> Kaldra the absolute most powerful thing you can be doing in Vintage? Probably not, but that doesn't eliminate it as a way you can win games in the format. The video Justin posted proves as much.

Hey I only get to decide what my opinion is. I’m not writing a glossary here or anything. I even stated that it was my opinion, if it wasn’t clear.
I think Kaldra sucks in modern too. It’s an uncastable non lethal threat

@revengeanceful fwiw I think kaldra is a very real and fast clock that makes SFM much more playable.
-
@marland_moore New 5-0 list that senpaiblank and I worked on just dropped.
Kaldra continues to do work!

@iamactuallylvl1 I have been trying to get Ledger Shredders to play with. That card is awesome but hard to get on MTGO right now.
-
The ledger shredders look like the worst card in the deck by a mile as to name one they take at least 2 turns to get bigger than delver. How did they work out for you in practice?

Yeah, but they loot. That's why you want them, not the clock.

I don't know what their average growth speed is, but you might have missed how many times this can trigger. Up to once per player, once per turn, so up to 4 times per turn cycle. You could play a Ledger Shredder on turn two and it could be a 7/9 by the time you attack on turn three. Of course that'll almost never happen, but I've seen plenty of games where Delver doesn't flip for five or six turns, so this may just be faster than Delver on average. (Not to say it should replace Delver in every deck, 1U and U are very different mana costs)
-
@brass-man I did in fact miss that.

Kaldra and bird doubters in shambles.
Birdblade challenge win

@iamactuallylvl1
That list looks real nice to the point where I think I'll take it for a spin. -
Birdblade has won another challenge

@iamactuallylvl1 I obviously cannot take any credit here but I am enjoying that Stone Forge is creeping into the top tier when there was so much doubt about it's power level.
I think the arch type has a lot of potential in the current meta and will continue to do well.
