Buying cards on eBay?
-
I'm in the market for some paper cards. I was looking on eBay and wasn't sure how authentic some of the cards are. Are people getting fakes of stuff like force of negations made these days? What about the foil etched versions.
In the past I've collected foreign editions. For the most part I haven't had to worry about fakes. I'm not sure how cautious I should be.
Thanks in advance. -
@john-cox There are a lot of fakes these days. Go through Discord or the Ebay Vault.

Ebay has an untold amount of problems for both sellers and buyers. You're more likely to get both a cheaper and authentic product through TCGPlayer or messaging store owners directly.

Ebay now offers authentication for high end cards. The card is purchased on eBay, then sent to an authenticator (seems to be PSA or CGC) and then sent to you. This should avoid 99% of all scams.
It’s almost like buying a graded card, but with an extra layer of security.

EBay just bought TCGPlayer so tread lightly on both.
