@Topical_Island Which is itself dubious. 2B Jester's Cap with a 5/3 body attached remains strong, but the cost of swinging with a Goblin or Rogue keeps going up. We haven't gotten a decent Gob in a while, though we do have some interesting Rogues. This is probably as bad as Gobs have been since the printing of Earwig Squad. Walking Ballista is a nightmare for a deck full of 1/1s.
One of the things that's hard to communicate to folks who aren't used to playing Gobs is how grindy most games are. Getting a 4/4 every-ish turn, often with a tutor attached, wins grindy games in ways that something vulnerable to StP and other spot removal wouldn't.
I won many games with JVP's ultimate ability. Actually I've probably won more games with JVP's ultimate ability than with JTMS's ultimate ability (even if I would count all Legacy games). It happens more often than many players might think.
Not sure ... this is the first time I've seen it used! ... I think a link back to the original topic would be pretty useful though ... certainly worth upgrading if I can figure out how without too much hassle
@Islandswamp Who knows what I'm Oathing into... I usually run a creature package that include 1 Gris and 1 or 2 other things, often Emrakul, and more recently Salvagers because, seriously, that stuff is just really good.
gha. There was a thread on this on the previous Mana Drain; called blue prison, I think. The basic problem is you can't reliably flip Erayo without having a lot more moxes than average... at least 6-7 more (1 petal, 2 chrome, 3 opal, 1 mana vault). Then your manabase becomes really vulnerable. Second, Arcane Lab plus Erayo is also a non-bo if the Lab is played first; so we ended up cutting Arcane Lab. Third, you totally can lose to an early threat that comes down before Erayo flips; there's not really enough room left in the deck for a robust draw & tutor & answer package. 4th, its not clear this 2-mana enchantment is at all better than Oath of Druids. Finally, Arcane Lab probably is awesome in this meta, but a deck based around Eidolon of Rhetoric is probably a lot better.
