what gush provided for doomsday is irreplaceable with cards from the current pool, what it provided was speed in which to execute a game ending plan at an opportuned time.

Iterations that I have tested only led to mana problems post doomsday. If you try to address the mana issue by slotting more mana, then the build becomes too lackluster in terms of threat/bait spells and so on and so forth.

They could have restricted everything from misstep, preordain, mentor, probe etc., but could have spared gush and NOT totally wreck decks which were NOT abusive/degenerate, and at the same time permit old decks to compete, but such is life with the DCI. Months after restriction I'm still at the same level of frustration.

doomsday was a gush deck that was not even considered a contender in the meta prior to this restriction and yet it gets hit heavily. Its not even on the same level with mentor-gush when it comes to resiliency and closing out games and yet it gets hit heavily. I can accept probe, but gush??? they could have at least restricted mentor first and monitored if gush is still problematic. For WoTC to neglect support for vintage but afford to be so bold to impose restrictions like this leaves a bad taste in the mouth.

@Hrishi exactly my thoughts on this, these restrictions is whats killing the format, it always feels like my deck is a standard deck which is bound to rotate out of the format. People play vintage because they have "Fun", its the only thing that the format has to offer and nothing more.

Hi evouga, this query is specifically with regards to Yawgmoth's Will, do you think its still necessary to include this card in a very tight list such as this? the card's application is only attractive post oath, which means that you're already winning at that point. I have been running a similar list for a year now and would like to know how other oath pilots justify the inclusion of this card, considering that there's already alot of dead draws in the opener with this deck. Below is the list that I'm currently working on:

1 Black Lotus
1 Mox Sapphire
1 Mox Emerald
1 Mox Jet
1 Mana Crypt
1 Wasteland
1 Strip Mine
1 Polluted Delta
4 Misty Rainforest
1 Island
1 Forest
2 Tropical Island
2 Underground Sea
4 Forbidden Orchard

1 Voltaic Key
1 Time Vault
3 Griselbrand

3 Mental Misstep
2 Flusterstorm
2 Misdirection
4 Force of Will
2 Thoughtseize

4 Oath of Druids
1 Ancestral Recall
1 Vampiric Tutor
1 Brainstorm
1 Impulse
1 Memory's Journey
1 Dig Through Time
1 Ponder
4 Preordain
1 Demonic Tutor
1 Time Walk
3 Show and Tell

1 Elesh Norn, Grand Cenobite
1 Toxic Deluge
1 Trinisphere
2 Abrupt Decay
4 Nature's Claim
2 Pithing Needle
4 Leyline of the Void
